Chayenne won a money tournament in French in February. ( Lagord TC ) In the semis she defeated Nastya 7-5/6-3.
In the final she defeated Laura Rocchi, who won her semi against Marlot Meddens.

Goed nieuws in het AD vandaag. Chayenne breekt met haar trainer Ralph Kok. Als ze nu eindelijk met een goed begeleidingsteam kan gaan werken, heeft het Nederlandse damestennis eind volgend jaar met Arantxa, Misa en Chayenne 3 nog jonge meiden in de top 100.

Is that really a good news that she left the coach with whom she went up to the position 239 in WTA ranking?

Sure, yeah. Ralph Kok still has a good level himself playing tennis; so he is a good hitting-partner; can learn his students a good technic; they are all hitting the ball almost perfect backhand and forehand. He brought Marta Marrero in the quarterfinal of RG; the start with Yakimova was impressive ( in a couple of months from 140 WR to 60 WR ). But the positive effect with Marrero and Yakimova was only a short time. He is not working hard enough; has a very weak mentality ( look at his own carreer with his possebilities ) and his girls don´t have enough power and muscles. Chayenne started with him beginning 2002 beying number 20 of her age-group in Spain. End of that year training with Ralph Kok she was number 1 of Spain in her age-group till 14 years. She won the Nike Masters Spain beating Carla Suarez ( now 50 WR and this year in the quarter final of RG ). One year later Chayenne was the champion of the Canarian Islands beating again Carla Suarez. For sure Chayenne has a lot more talent then Carla, but then the positive effect with her coach ended like earlier with Marrero and later with Yakimova. There are still a lot of possebilities for her with the right people on her side.

Well, in my opinion not necessarily coach should achieve in his own sports career high achievements. In my opinion there is much more important HOW he COULD teach his students the WAY to play (I mean tennis technic etc.), and what it is not the least and may be the MOST important the good coach has to find ways how to "fire up" players mentality so this player would be always "charged" to win.

On the other hand many players change coaches when they feel that they might get more from another coach (as far as I know there is a handful of players who had not changed coaches during their career: I can remember Henin (Carlos Rodríguez), who else?)

So let's just hope that she could find a right person...

And of course it is also up to Chayenne herself whether she would be able mentally and physically to work hard and "die" on the courts in order to achieve Top levels.

Well Chayenne is moving to NL next year, so I guess she might train in Almere with the other Dutch girls - which would be good for her. I had assumed that meant she was changing coaches, but hadn't had that confirmed till now.

She's gonna play Eredivisie next year too - not sure for which team, and Bundesliga for Bocholt (seems to be the most Dutch team in the German league).

So in Almere there is some kind of Dutch "tennis academy" facilities where also other top Dutch players train very often? It may I guess also positively influence her future tennis career.

Yeah, I guess it's hard to find good hitting partners in the Canary Islands. And I would assume travel is much easier from NL.

Yes, the main training complex is in Almere - although it's meant to be moving to Amersforrt I heard - but it's close to Almere anyway. So alot of the Dutch players are training in Almere yeah.

She's also supposed to be coming to Australia before next April - but I'm not sure if that's for AO or for some challengers that will be here in Feb/March. I am trying to find out from her what she meant.

Chayenne will play already next saturday for the team Bocholt in the winter-Bundesliga.

They all play for Bocholt cause Bocholt is like really close to the Dutch border.
