She's won back to back matches, both in straight, comfortable sets. But I wasn't convinced by her play on the first set, she was a bit erratic and had trouble to hold... Anyone saw the second?
I saw the last two games of the second and it seemed she had a really aggressive mindset, coming to the net a lot. In those games Soler Espinosa didn't do anything wrong really, but there was absolutely nothing on her balls, so it was kinda hitting practice for Nastia.
only saw 1st set. It was kind of messy. Nowadays her main problem is probably her nerves and concentration, keeping up intensity and focus. Sometimes she plays a perfect game, then the next 3 games are absolute horrendous with ridiculous errors and shotmaking. And I doubt her body language and attitude helping her at this point, kind of "acting" like a "little girl" too many times.
That loss yesterday was horrifying still. No excuses
BTW some trivia, Nastia has lost her last 8 QFs or so. Last time she was beyond a QF she won the title (Monterrey, February last year). So it could be pretty mental at this point maybe. But I´m just pissed because I thought Johansson would be a guaranteed win, but I never learn
Well, putting Bastad behind our backs will be the wiser choice. Washington DC is next. She´s the top seed I believe .I don´t even recall Nastia as a top seed in a WTA ever
Well doesn´t look too good of a draw because Jovanovski has just won her 1st title. And yes,I am aware of the quality of the field in Baku but I can´t help but feel worried. If Bojana plays well she can hit Nastia off the court. GL anyway
