Re: The "Ivana Lisjak deserves a cheering thread" thread

^^ This is totally winnable if Ivana is at the right level. They've never played eachother, but Feuerstein is about 100 places below her best ever ranking (of 171). The fact that she beat Mladenovic doesn't say a lot actually, cause Kristina is young and also not exactly in the form of her life. Last week Feuerstein lost easily to some 16 y.o. barely ranked inside the 400. Ivana is not at her best either, but she really should win this match.

Re: The "Ivana Lisjak deserves a cheering thread" thread

She took her chance:

(Q)I. Lisjak def. (Q)C. Feuerstein 7:6, 6:1

Well done Ivana! R2 will be very tough it seems, she'll face the winner of the match between Vogt and the 5th seed Ungur. Hope she finds some way through that one as well.

P. S. That girl Mikadze, who took a set from Ivana in QR2, beat the 6th seed Floris in MD R1, three sets. So looks like Ivana is not in such a terrible form after all.

Congratulations, Ivana!

She next plays Vogt (Ungur retired in the second set of their match).

I might take that back. She lost to Vogt 3 & 5 It's true that Vogt is on some sort of a run (lost in three sets in the finals of a 25k last week), but still...

Re: The "Ivana Lisjak deserves a cheering thread" thread

Ivana will play qualies of Paris WTA and in the first round she drew Nikola Hofmanova. Not a bad draw it seems, this girl is some 90 spots away from her best ever ranking of 161, so close to where Ivana is at the moment. A chance for at least a few points here.

Re: The "Ivana Lisjak deserves a cheering thread" thread

$25,000 Irapuato, R1: Ivana LISJAK (CRO) defeated Valentine CONFALONIERI (ITA) 6-3 6-2

In R2 she should be playing the top seed, Zec-Peskiric, but she lost to Koehler.

Good luck, Ivana!

$25,000 Irapuato, R2: Ivana Lisjak (CRO) d. (Q)Maria Joao Koehler (POR) 16 64 62

In the QF Ivana will play an unseeded player, Segnini (#442). Obviously, a nice chance to make the semis.

Good luck!

Yes, this seems like a nice chance to reach the semis, although I'm not really convinced by this latest, three set win over a qualifier.

^ For what it's worth, Koehler is ranked in the top 300 and in R1 destroyed the top seed, Zec-Peskiric, 61 62!

^^ Didn't know that. In that case, seems like Ivana is playing quite good.
