She was my favourite german tennis player ever.I wonder if someone has any news of her recently? How and what is she doing? Maybe you germans here or read something about her, cause we don't hear about her since she retired, which is sad

yes, she was a great player and a nice person off-court. i also miss her much!
ANKE retrieved in her privacy and doesn't play a bigger in role in german media anymore. the lastest news on her was that she's pregnant! she should give birth in february, but i didn't heard about it - maybe i missed the news!?
ANKE is tournament-director in filderstadt and sometimes she appears as a 'tennis-specialist', for example on www.eurosport.de: she wrote a daily column during and about the australian open...

Anke was one of my very first faves along with Iva Majoli, i remember the AO final of 1996 still very good when Anke reached the final then and unfortunately lost to Monica Seles.....

I think I heard, she is a mother now. She is in a relationship with a guy called Roger Wittmann who is a manager for many football players.

wow thanks a lot all of you for the information about Anke! I hope she's happy now! Glad to know she's a mother.
She was one of my favourite players in the nineties along with Seles and Sabatini.I remember I had cable channel and watched several german tv stations and Anke was always shown in those german tourneys.I miss those days Her game was so much fun to watch she always so much effort and energy into hitting the ball.I also remember her outbursts on court when she screamed in frustration.Such an expressive player! I didn't know what she said though as I speak few german.

I even read the name of the baby somewhere on a German forum, it wasn't a common name. I know members who were great Huber fans and who come here regulary and they will surely tell you the name soon.
Huber might be in the background now, but she does have connections to the DTB and with Rittner and I am sure she gives some advice to everybody who wants some.
I remember her match vs. Cappy, where she won set 1 6-0, but then lost.

for me Anke is my alltime favorit players
i had so many nice and sad moments with her
it started as she beat Navratilova 1991 in Filderstadt
i was 13 years old at this time, and from this day on i followed her career
Australian-Open 1996, i still can remember all her matches
and how i watched the final and cried after she lost

Wer Sehnsucht nach Anke hat: Sie beschäftigt sich am Samstag, dem 24. September 2005 von 14:00-17:00 mit den Jüngsten beim TEC Waldau in Stuttgart.
