I dont think shopping is either boring or stupid. I get so excited when I get a good deal and it can be over anything ...normally just clothing though.

Most definitely...there are shopping addictions that are just as bad as any chemical dependency.

There are poeple getting treatment for this!

I think that you can be "addicted" to just about anything, depending on how you define addiction. If you consider it merely a psychological depedency on something that has developed for some reason or another, then it's certainly possible to be addicted to shopping. If you believe that addiction must have a physical component, then things get a little more complicated and you might be better off jsut considering "shopping addiction" to be a maladaptive behaviour that is separate from the addictions.

Shopping to me is exciting in waves -- sometimes I get really excited by it, other times it's not exciting at all. As for "beating" your shopping addiction...well, try by "beating" something else!
