Eleni Withdraws, Ai Has Knee Injury. Vera Has Strep Throat.
The following players were forced to withdraw from IW for the following reasons:
Maria Elena Camerin (right ankle injury)
Jennifer Capriati (right shoulder injury)
Klara Koukalova (illness)
Tatiana Panova (illness)
Shuai Peng (right ankle injury)
Shenay Perry (right knee injury)
Chanda Rubin (left knee injury)
Anna Smashnova (illness)
Ai Sugiyama (knee injury)
Vera Zvonareva (strep throat)
Eleni replaced by Alyona Bondarenko

Pierce! Don't you know by now that tennis players are never injured or ill and that they are just faking it! Yes, apparently tennis players cannot be harmed by injury or illness, they are impervious to bodily harm and only pretend so that they have an excuse ready in case they lose. Didn't you know that? Didn't Julia explain this to you?
