I just wanted to let you know these important dates for PAW Fed Cup 2005:

4th April: Race to World Group Ends - top 4 will be placed in World Group.

1st-17th April: Committments are made, Captains nominated.

19th April: Teams must be confirmed and submitted by 11pm British Time*

23rd-24th April: World Group (1st Round) and Zone 1 takes place.

*Please note - countries may confirm their teams and captains as early as they like, as long as they have thoroughly negotiated and confirmed this with all team members.

*For countries with more than 5 players - if 5 players have committed and you still want to play - do still committ - as you can play as a 'reserve'.

A reserve's picks will be counted ONLY if 1 of the officially nominated team members fails to make a single PAW by the end of Sunday's matches

This reserve rule will be introduced this year due to problems last year, as some committed players did not make picks. This isn't fair on any team - as there could have been someone else who would have been able to play. This is not a criticism of the players who didn't pick - maybe it's because their busy or could not play at the last minute - so it was decided to introduce a system this year where other players can be on standby

Remember: Teams must have a minimum of 2 players in order to play, and you may have no more than 5 on a team.
