Barrois au bout du suspense


Après avoir sauvé deux balles de match en finale, l’Allemande Kristina Barrois a remporté l'Open Gaz de France de Belfort aux dépens de la Belge Kirsten Flipkens 6/2, 3/6, 7/6. Maïlyne Andrieux, la meilleure Française, était demi-finaliste.


COMME EN FED CUP. Une belle finale qui conclut un tournoi, c’est le souhait de tout directeur de tournoi. Et quand le public prend part à la fête, c’est encore mieux ! Nouvellement nommé à la tête de l'Open Gaz de France de Belfort, Jérôme Collard a connu ce double plaisir. Dans l’ultime duel, la Belge Kirsten Flipkens a eu deux balles de match dans le troisième set à 5-3 (40-15), mais elle n’a pu conclure face l’Allemande Kristina Barrois. Après avoir égalisé à 6-6, cette dernière devait s’imposer au tie-break, 8 points 6 au grand dam du public. "Durant cette rencontre, on avait l’impression de vivre une rencontre de Fed Cup puisque une bonne partie du public avait pris fait et cause pour la Belge", a constaté Jérôme Collard.

ANDRIEUX FAIT UN TABAC. Le public belfortain a jeté également son dévolu sur Maïlyne Andrieux (n°19 Française, Pays de la Loire), la meilleure française du tournoi. Sortie des qualifications, "la blondinette" a atteint la demi-finale, battue par la future gagnante de l’épreuve 6/2, 6/2. "C’est un score qui ne reflète pas l’excellent tennis qu’a produit Mailyne tout au long de son parcours", a tenu a précisé le directeur du tournoi.

HEUREUX PARTENAIRES. Une quarantaine de bénévoles a travaillé sur l’épreuve, soutenue par des partenaires apparemment satisfaits de cette cinquième édition (Gaz de France, Conseil général, Ville, Renault Belfort-Montbéliard, BNP Paribas et General Electric). "J’ai déjà reçu quelques mails d’encouragements de leur part", a confié fièrement Jérôme Collard. De bon augure pour 2007…

HEBERGEMENT EN VUE. A peine l’édition 2006 achevée que déjà on songe à l’avenir du côté de l’ASM Belfort. Et le futur des Internationaux de Franche-Comté ne passe pas forcement par un changement de dotation. "Nous voulons conforter l’épreuve dans sa dotation actuelle (25 000 $) en l’axant déjà sur l’aspect convivial. Nous allons donc essayer d'offrir aux joueuses l’hospitalité", a expliqué le directeur du tournoi. Délicate attention !

Aber wahrscheinlich war die arme Barbara kein wirklicher Gradmesser. CMG wird um vieles schwieriger.
