yeah but soon is close considering how long we've waited for her to play an actual Tier tournament...last time was Cincinnati i think, and she qualified and drew Srebotnik in the first round...she lost 6-3 7-6 but was serving for the set at 5-3 in the second set...and Srebotnik went on to reach the final.

Last time she played on clay she made two consecutive ITF finals in $50K Indian Harbour Beach and $25K Palm Beach Gardens...
Come on Roro!! You can do it!! Do your best!!

Well..she lost 4-6. 6-2 and 6-4 It was soo close in that 3rd set. She was even up a break at 3-2. I am gutted by this one. Well, atleast she gave the #27 player in the workd a tough battle. It still shows that she can play with the best of them... ...

Re: Rossana De Los Rios 2007 Cheering Thread!

I'm gutted too. She could have won this!!
So frustrating at her incredibly tough draws each week...I wish she got a better draw

She should have played Bogota...by the looks of things she would have at least qualified there. Hope she plays some more real tournaments soon.

so sad....

Re: Rossana De Los Rios 2007 Cheering Thread!

I can't see her in any lists for any challengers for March so *hopefully* that means she will play some big tournaments and earn some BIG points! Clearly her ranking does not belong at #191...

Very rough translation:

Rossana, with vocation offensive in his game, good blow of right and facilities to play in fields of clay, has hair long and freckles that complements well their pretty face, smiles often and watches at eyes, since they make that debts with vida.Dice Acapulco do not have (Mexico), 1 sea (EFE). - The Paraguayan Rossana de los Ríos was the best junior tennis player of the world in 1992; then it seemed to have it everything to prevail between greater, but one fell in love and there she began her way costs above in the circuit of the WTA. Born in Asuncion in September of 1975, Rossana was this week on the verge of giving the surprise of the Mexican Open (Acapulco), when falling by narrow margin before the Italian Tathiana Garbin, second head of series, by 4-6, 6-2, 6-4; she happened inadvertent in means, but she knows that she left a message: to the 31 years of age cualidades."Pude conserves his to arrive very far in tennis, in 1992 I gained the Junior Roland Garros, but I made decisions and I am contented with my life", explained to EFE the player, married from 1994 with the soccer player Gustavo Neffa, with whom has a daughter of 10 years called Ana Paula, to who she takes to her matches.

Years ago, she received some critic to make case to the love instead of showing its great tennis, nevertheless now it speaks with dulzura on its family and the pride notices to him when it says that his husband is her fanatical number one."He played soccer in the leagues of Italy and Argentina, with the national selection and in the Olympic Games, was good in that, but now he speaks more of tennis; the times changed for the women and he supports me to be able to play calm ", comenta.Rossana is a rare case of player in the circuit of the WTA; it let play five years to dedicate itself to its daughter, returned in the 2000 and one season later was able to be placed in the 51 of the world, shows of which her talent was ahí."I attempt to return to the top 100, I am well, but I was two years with knee injuries and wrist and come from back", comments the girl of long hair, with a beautiful smile and an open treatment that seems more of Caribbean.

At the Mexican Open she arrived as the foreign player of lowest ranking and the drawing placed her against Garbin, 27 in the world. Not to only the first set won him, but that after a loss in the second, tuteó with the favorite and only fell in final set."In the second set, she mounted upon the ball entered all the winning shots to her and I had to hold, but in third, I recovered, she was mistaken and we were even; this match demonstrated to me that my tennis has not gone away ", said Rossana. With vocation offensive in her game, good blow of right and facilities to play on clay, long hair and freckles that compliments her pretty face, smile to slight and watches at eyes, since they do who do not have debts with vida. She says that this year she hopes to play all the matches because in Acapulco it demonstrated that she can compete with the best. She listens trusted to him with returning to give war in the circuit, although lets glimpse that if she does not obtain the goal it will not matter. After all, already the Grand Slam of her life won, when discovering that the happiness is not in the fame of the best tennis player of the world, but in to have listened its heart and to follow 12 years después."I am happy to retire in a few years, then I would like to help the Paraguayan girls so they are developed and can become of a future, but if then I am ranked in the top 30, perhaps defer proyecto", she says with a mocking tone that it exposes her security in which with her, at this point, any thing can happen.
