Cata lost that match to Brandi but Brandi was playing well.

This week in Canberra Cata defeated Sybille Bammer in straight sets, 60 75 for her first win of 2006!!!

Yeah she is playing 'okay'! don't know about 'on fire' because she struggled a lot against Garbin, another moonballer but she has done very well to reach the QF without the drop of a set. I think she can beat Schruff in straight sets!

Also Cata is the only South American player to win 2 consecutive matches in 2006 (also the only South American player to win 2 matches at all in 2006)!

Dulko has only won 1 match this year (Hopman Cup) and lost 4. Diaz Oliva lost 1R in Auckland and 1R in Hobart. Fernandez lost 1R Qualies in Gold Coast. Suarez lost 1R in Auckland...Vento Kabchi lost 1R Gold Coast and 1R Canberra...and Alves lost 1R qualies this week too and the others haven't played yet!

WTA CANBERRA 2006

Tras vencer a Sybille Bammer, Catalina dijo:

Cata fell in the Canberra Semifinals in 3 sets to Cho. Well done on making the Semifinals, Cata!

In Melbourne at the Australian Open, Catalina has to play Vera Douchevina, who made the 4th Round last year. If she wins that, she will have to face Schiavone or Serra-Zanetti! Best of luck Cata!

After her match against Cho she said:

AUSTRALIAN OPEN

1R. Catalina beats Vera Douchevina: 5-7, 6-3, 6-1

Next oponent: Francesca Schiavone

Cata dijo:

Suerte!!!
