Venus picks up award
LONDON, March 19 (Reuters) - Venus Williams has been named the WTA Tour's player of the month for February, tour officials said on Tuesday.
Williams collected her second and third titles of 2002 with wins at the Paris Indoors and Antwerp and reached the number one world ranking for the first time.
She won the monthly award four times in 2001, more than any other player.
Current world number one Jennifer Capriati was named player of the month in January after defending her Australian Open crown.
