Are the South Americans fading?

Paola, Maria and Gisela seem to be South America's only hope for the future

It is difficult for south american girls to tour at a young age, situation and fiances are bad so not many players make it to the tour.

Er......Paola has been #1 for a long long time, and she also has been a top 10. Who are you to say it's fading. Not to mention Gisela who just broke into top 50.
I think they are fine as it is. We all know after the financial crisis some of the South American countries, it's hard for athletes to go out and compete without thinking about their security, I say they are doing pretty well as it is.

Okay Geisela can reach maybe top 25 but don't count on it. My be is, she will be around 80-100 most of her career. Suarez is the best one. Maria is very very good but she will leave soon. she is getting to old

Fabiola is only 25, I think she can play for a few few more years.
I think they can hold on long enough before another latino talents to grow.
But I know what you mean, we Canada has been deperrately seeking great talents since the benning of time. Let's hope they find another one

Maria Emilia Salerni from Argentina became the World Junior Champion in 2000 at age 17.
And she is one of the most talented players on the tour too.

The South Americans don't tradtionally have a great numbers of top players. It's amazing to have players like Suarez, Zuluaga, Vento-Kabchi and Dulko in the Top 50, just for starters. I wouldn't say they were fading, but just chugging along as usual. There'll be others.

Then we shouldnt forget about Milagros and Clarisa. You guys got great Latino talents and their cheering forums have been pretty popular, so dont worry I'm sure South American tennis wont fade for some time..

Yeah, don't forget the Kabchinator I like the mix of current South American players mucho, but as this thread pertains to the "future," I haven't heard of any up-and-comers/juniors causing a stir.

P.S. Vamos Sequera!!!

Why did you all forget about Milagros Sequera who has been having a great year in Doubles?

Castano could also be a top 100 player
