well any language i think is easy if you grew up with it or were raised speaking it. otherwise, all languages are hard to learn...some harder than others but learning another language - especially one you weren't exposed to much - is a challenge. So good job with the Russian! What else do you know? I can't even make my Spanish decent enough.

I know well two slavic languages, again, both without much active speaking experience, just understanding everything, written and spoken: russian and polish.
That gives me some right to claim that I can understand any slavic language - more or less, because of similiarities of languages and words.
So, when Vaidishova or Beneshova is playing, for example, I sometimes switch to czech language commentary and, yeah, rather more than less ...
Although it is not a big deal to understand tennis commentary....

I'm an undergrad pre-med option actually...
Baylor has a top 10 Med school so I'd reckon if I'm one of their own and make good grades... or if not then a PhD in Biochem or something along those lines will do... or better yet... both! Imagine *your name* M.D PhD on your namecard or something MWAHAHAHAHA!!! And I can already see the impressed/awed look on people's faces
(however I don't think I can do that and stay sane with all the studying)
Anyway I've been in the US when I was 6 for a year and a half, then was back and forth several times between Mississippi and Bangkok...
College Freshman year was at Mississippi but now I've transferred to Baylor...

hmmm Maria came to Thailand quite recently so I wager I'm at the US
Yeah Thailand's coup was bloodless... the tanks were just for the intimidation purpose (no one tried to oppose it) or should I note that those rusty, primitive tanks would be scrap metal if they'd gone down to our Southern Muslim regions... down there they blow up cars like crazy with bombs and all that stuff
You see our army is serverely under-teched We're not a nation made for war

There are actually many Filipino languages, what is often referred to as "Filipino" is actually Tagalog, one of the dominant languages of Luzon island esp. around Manila, and as a result of the 'national language' policy of my country began in the 20th century, the national language of the country, aside from English. For me, personally, Tagalog is more of a market language, necessary for commerce, but hardly adequate to cover everything at its present state. It's not my native language, mine's Capampangan/Pampango.
But Tagalog or otherwise, the Filipino languages should be easy to learn. Consonants and vowels almost always go together, so pronunciation is easy. "A" is the most commonly used vowel. (Aba, nakakabasa na pala ako! Loose translation: holy #$%, I can read already!)
English speakers will have to overcome their tendency for long vowels, though. No long a's, no long e's, no long i's, you get the point. Imagine reading the names of people and places in "The Lord of the Rings" (properly, as Tolkien prescribes in his book) . That's how Tagalog is like. No wonder I took to LOTR like fish to water.

According to this article (in Russian) Maria admitted to having a boyfriend. She said that he lives in Sochi, so it's not Roddick
|
No way! Don't know from where they got this, but I've heard Maria saying about her friend in Sochi - it was not BOYfriend, just a friend (a girl I guess). Probably you saw the pictures of Masha from Moscow "public event". So it was a promotion of Motorola opening the biggest shop of their own in Europe. Maria was there and met with her fans and press afterwards. She told about this friend in Sochi there.
I'll post links to 2 REAL interviews with Masha from "Sport-Express", it's also in Russian...

True Maria does have a friend in Sochi i think, but like you said no mention of a boyfriend in these real interviews. If it is true about her having a boyfriend, she has always claimed she would never admit, so if its true i believe she has never had a boyfriend whilst in the public eye, because she would have finally realised what its liek to have a partner and prematurly said she would never discuss it but if it is true she now realises the kind of feeling it is and shares it because you want to tell the world.
No more singing for Maria this year
