Yeah but heartbreaking to lose like this at home after having multiple match points.

She's clearly the better player of the 2.
Seriously, what a stupid post, I really thought you would've known Monique's game better than to post such crap! I love Monique but she is just another Sophie Ferguson and can't help but choke and choke and choke. Its very sad

Re: Monique Adamczak Cheering Thread

I feel for Mon.

She should have had a much better career than what she has had. I reckon she was on her way to cracking the top 100 before she choked away her 1st round US Open match against Cornet 3 years ago, and then fucked her knee up not long after. I think she still feels she can get that level back, and is plugging away until she finds it, but sadly I think it's escaped her. She proved today that she just doesn't have the mental fortitude to make the next level, and it's been the story of her career. Sad, cos she really does have a lovely game..

Re: Monique Adamczak Cheering Thread

It pains me to follow Mons matches at this time of year on live-score.

Another heartbreaker

Yeah nice, thanks for that!
I said something would have to go seriously wrong, and it did! She choked. I was just giving my opinion based on what I had seen. This is exactly why I don't bother anymore.

Thanks heaps Scott!
Looking at the number of good reps and the comments that were made, seems I shouldn't take his comments personally. I'll add him to my ignore list I think.

Re: Monique Adamczak Cheering Thread

Monique got screwed on a line call on match point. Sirotkina hit the ball out (not close, definitely out), but wasn't called.

Cmon, don't be so uptight. Posters won't bother giving match reports if theyre gonna get bagged like this.

Re: Monique Adamczak Cheering Thread

Such a tough loss for Monique, again. She still seems to have the ability, hopefully this year she can go injury free and actually give herself some real chances.

I can see her cracking the top 150 and staying there for a lot of the year. Who knows what opportunities could pop up if she reaches that position again.

She actually didn't choke against Cornet at all, she was just crippled, she had bad hamstring strains in both her legs which were heavily bandaged before she even started the match, I was surprised she even finished the match given her movement was plagued! It was actually more a case of Cornet choking which kept Monique in it.

I appreciated SeanyQ's post until he made the statement that she couldn't possibly lose! Monique's a serial choker, we all know that, so it was just silly, especially in tennis where players are so up and down between sets. Just because you play a blinder in the 1st set doesn't mean you can keep up that level the whole match.
