But hey, wins against Gajdosova and Yuan in straight sets are not bad, certainly a sign of an improvement considering how bad last year was, especially if we keep in mind the Dubai semi from a few weeks ago as well.
Now the first real challenge, qualifying for the AO. If she could make it, it would be great.

Up next, fellow Czech Strycova. I think she can win.
I thought her biggest challenge would be Malek in the third round, but she lost to Spears.
I really hope Kookie can use this chance to qualify.

She is currently up 4-3 in her 3rd qualy match (she had BPs for 5-0  )

She lost to Flipkens in Q1 in Paris 7-6 6-2.
Had 2sps on her serve at 5-4 in the first set and tons of gps and bps in the second set, but just couldn't convert. Disappointing really, I thought she was on the right track after AO, guess not.

She lost to Malek 6-2 6-0 in Antwerp qualies.
Last year she beat Lucie here in the first round and it was an expected result, this year Lucie is in the Paris final, close to top 25, Kookie close to the top 125 (126th this week  ) and losing in first round of qualies.
