Good luck to Tzveti in the second round. Nice win for Dessi as well.

Thanks for the info, bgbgbg. Still, it's hard to explain why Radoslav has not played since July 2003. But I guess we'll see what happens this year.

Tzveti lost in the SF but still a great tournament for her!!
She won 17 points this week and will be inside Top 300 next week

Tsvetana Pironkova Cheering Thread!

Tzveti makes her 2004 debut in Athens ($25K)! She'll play the top seed Virginie Razzano. Good luck Tzveti.

yes, this was strange loss having in mind that Razzano lost to Garcia Sokol in R2 who lost to Topalova in the quarters

Anyway let's hope for a Bulgarian final in Athens

Yeah... maybe Tzveti was just very very rusty having not played for a while.

Tzvetana is still in the acceptance list for the tournament in Dinan (FRA, $50k+H) next week...
That's a little bit strange as she is expected to play Fed Cup in 2 weeks and is allowed to play only three more tournaments until September...

Maybe she is trying to get her rankings up so she can get into the qualies for the French and Wimbledon. That way those 2 tournaments won't count towards her limit. Fed Cup of course also does not count for that purposes. Just my guess.

Tzvetana lost in the second round of the qualifying in Dinan, France.... That's very bad result considering our expectations

she´s in a slump i think. i mean her opponent is good, but to lose 1-6, 3-6 is a shame.
