True. I've always wondered who might have picked up an Aussie or two in Court's absence among other Aussie women. Lehane or Turner were always the best bets.

Of course the one and only year Court took a break out own Nancy Richey won over Lesley 6-1 6-4.

Turner's clay court prowess is beyond dispute IMO. 2 wins, 2 finals (one in which she had a match point) and 2 semifinals. She entered Roland Garros 9 times, finishing in the quarters of better 7 of 9 times. That's quality.

From her wiki entry-Lesley at the 1964 Dutch Chmps in Hilversum. It looks like a topsin backhand to me-anyone else agree?
