Re: Yanina Wickmayer
Nina is injured again it seems...she's withdrawn from both Linz and Luxembourg.

Anyone know more? The German commentator said she practiced in Linz and broke down in tears after a few minutes.

Re: Yanina Wickmayer
I thought she was just ill
She really needs some time off IMO. Not just to get better physically but even more important, to clear her mind in order to get a fresh start for next season.

ughh , and she's not a regular crybaby
it says she has a knee injury
but strangely enough she's managed to stay in top 30
she usually starts the season strongly though
hopefully the off-season will be enough to recover, and she'll come back stronger

She's still in the top 25 because she had no points to defend after the US Open...
She needs to recover now, and prepare for next year.
She has to do well there, because otherwise she wil have a freefall in the rankings!

Re: Yanina Wickmayer
Poor Yanina, so unlucky. Her season has been pretty terrible tbh...I guess the only reason she'll end the year well is because the 20-30 range of players are a complete mess atm.

"Wickmayer back together with Vlado Platenik. They've been training in Bratislava for 15 days, Yanina is feeling excellent. Knee and back are OK. She's 100% ready to start 2013"

an interview of her father about Yanina.
"the first time it didn't work out with Platinik because she wasn't ready for a different kind of tennis, but now she is.
Yanina maybe doesn't have that pure talent, but she sure have the determination to go for it.
After a short vacation of only four days Yanina alongside Platenik and her physiotherapist Jana went to Bratislava for a training camp, where she gained 4 kilo's of muscles. After this she went to train in the Nick Bollettieri Academy in Florida and then from there straight to Auckland. Her back stays fragile, every morning she has to do her exercises."

Oh lord. That doesn´t sound good. Maybe the added muscles will give some relief to her back.
