Did you guys hear there's been an investigation by the ITF against Akiko's comment during her interview after the loss of her doubles game with Aiko.
Akiko expressed anger about the fact that one of the Japanese National Center coach told Akiko not to win so many matches because Aiko is trying to gain more points for the Olympics (she's scheduled to play a challenger tournament this week).
ITF is investigating if Akiko (and Aiko) lost their 1st round doubles match on purposely (or without any efforts).
I think it was just "lost in words", and they wouldn't do such things if you really know them.
If we look at the other angle of this, the WTA/ITF should look at what consequences players have to face for the Olympics...
Anyway, this has been big in the media in Japan recently. Akiko already commented on this on her blog page.
