Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread
It's time for her to have some luck or maybe...some big win?

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread
So what is it about Lucie's game that seems to fit Bartoli so well?

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread
I don't think it's that way, I think it's the other way...I think it's Bartoli's game that doesn't sit well with Lucie

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread
Ugh, Lucie lost 61 64. The return was dismal of course. I'd say fourth round here isn't that bad since she's never taken well to Indian Wells but considering her first two wins were retirements, there is not too much to celebrate here.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread
I'll take the points but next week she'll get a top 8 player round 3, so who knows. She seemed to have an off day, losing 7 games in a row...she got it together at the end which was a small positive

I have to agree here, this doesn't really tell much on Lucie's form. I fully expected her to reach the fourth round and even disregarding the retirements I think she would have done anyway, considering she faced a badly slumping Paszek and Schiavone, who she's beaten all previous times on hard.
The disappointment for me is in the routined scoreline, even if the surface favours Marion more than it does Lucie. You can't complain at a fourth round, but hopefully she'll get a legitimate win or two in Miami. Please don't draw Venus or Vika early on.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread
Bartoli was sick in today's match...2nd time this year that post her win over Lucie, she has a problem. Calf muscle in Doha and now the IW virus...Lucie must be doing some voodoo or something

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread
What a terrible draw... Sad she has to face her friend and if she gets by that Azarenka, who she has only taken one set off of in their six meetings and that was before she started playing so well. Damn.

Her schedule is quite odd Hope she won't lose too much points.
She'll face Watson in Miami not Cirstea. Watson as a powder puff 1st serve so she should make it to the 3rd round easily.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread
I don't think her Schedule is strange...last year in the clay season she played Stuttgart (1R) Madrid (QF) and Rome (2R) and this year she should be in Stuttgart depending on what happens with fed cup and entry list, Budapest, Madrid and I think the Prague 100k. So she has a chance to gain points, but her problem is that when she plays MM events and is top seeded, she expects to win her early rounds and plays absolutely rubbish, and loses. It can particularly happen on clay. But I hope she does well in Budapest, good chance to gain points.
As for Miami, Watson is better but still no pushover. It'd be nice to win the match, but I wouldnt look forward to a match with Azarenka.
