Re: Why does Wimbledon not make their own seeding-list anymore?
There are two heavy favorites for the title with Sharapova and Serena Williams. Then Kvitova & Azarenka, maybe plus Clijsters if she does well this week. Not sure about Venus - but she's always dangerous.

Re: Why does Wimbledon not make their own seeding-list anymore?
I think it's only fair to go with the rankings but it's stupid sometimes not to make exceptions.
They should have add Clijsters and Venus Williams to the seeding list. Even before S'Hertogenbosch Clijsters was one of the top favorites for the bookmakers!

The seeding order follows the WTA ranking list, except where in the opinion of the committee, a change is necessary to produce a balanced draw.
There are no changes this year.

You're an idiot. The bookmakers' odds are based on which players punters are likely to put money on, not which players are most likely to win. Go watch horse-racing or some similar "sport" like that if you love the betting odds so much. Wimbledon also hasn't been brave by making up its own seeds, it's been stupid. Worthless locals like Henman benefited while other players who had worked hard to achieve their rankings were deprived their rightful seed.

The women's side uses the WTA rankings except, at the whimsy of the committee, they may deem a player to be a threat to the draw balance, in which case they make an adjustment to the rankings.
The men's and women's seeding techniques are a bit different but, in truth, Men and Women use different techniques to piss, too.

How can you talk about the different rules for men and women and then claim there is no double standard
In any case I think the outrage is less about men vs woman than how they treat some women differently than others
