Just watched the highlights of Kerber vs. Cetkovska, and Kerber was hitting the ball well. But then again Petra was very exhausted, and didn't have much pace or pop on her shots, so I think it made Kerber look a bit better. But like JJ Kerber hasn't dropped a set all week, and has only played 1 tiebreaker and 1 64 set and the rest have been routine.
Nervous... but after watching the Kvitova match today JJ was playing well enough to give Kirby trouble. AJDE BABY JECA JJLENA!!!!!!
^What game is this and where can you play it?
I play tennis games for pc at Agame.com in the tennis section.. but getting a bit bored by their selection
I also liked what I saw from JJ in the first set. Power pushing, I like to call it. She was hitting the ball hard, but not really going for outright winners. But she was moving the ball around so well and exposing Petra's movement. Only 3 unforced errors I believe. In the second set, she seemed to be taking more risks on her groundies, which is what she'll need to do against Kerber.
It was sort of Azarenka like in a sense. Azarenka doesn't clearly go for outright winners on every shot, yet she uses enough pace and placement to set up the point. JJ at her best does this and deserves a top 10 spot and plays a top 10 game. She just tries to go for too much sometimes and it disrupts her and she cannot recover quick enough. I've referred to Azarenka as a "baseline" pusher
I'd take hitting nice and deep to the corners, and not getting 30+ winners a set than bashing everything and hoping it lands in any day of the week.
Really hoping JJ takes care of Kirby's serve tomorrow, and her serve works well. Hoping for another entertaining match like in Brisbane, with Jelena obviously winning again
yes...i just slept early feeling JJ/Alisa didn't have any chance against the number ones! I am shocked with the scoreline...
Although Errani/Vinci were definitely the better team with 74 points won whereas JJ/Alisa won 59! that is a big difference
Anyways, they wasted 7 mp's in previous match...so not a shock that they wasted a couple more here!
Hopefully like all of u said, this loss doesn't effect her singles and she said in her on-court interview that she hopes to repeat her Brisbane result on Kerbi
