Go Jarka! Qualify please You look like you may be heading back to the Top 100 if she keeps up this form and consistency. Kiss those Asian 50K's goodbye
Thats good news good job Jarka ... Strycova now to quali ! Jarka can definately do that but the key will be her 1st serve, she must serve very well because Strycova has a very good return game and is tough off the ground especially from her backhand side which is her weapon.
Strycova has been playing a lot better in recent months and getting back to the form she was in when she got to 55 in the world back in 2004 . She is also obviously playing well on the grass beating a big serving dangerous player like Arn in the 1st round then today she ran through Ivanova.
For Jarka she just needs to stay focused on her serve and do a good job because she is going to for sure get opportunities to break the Strycova serve. If Jarka is disciplined on her own serve and exploits Strycova,s weaknesses really well she will be too good. Her forehand can break down under pressure especially wide to the right corner or at her ,thats definately the weaker side and the 2nd serve is also very attackable.
She struggles against players who can mix it up really well and not give her the same ball and pace and importantly not allow her to start the point and dictate from her strength her backhand side. You must start at her centre and forehand and get into that side and back behind her a lot to this side also .
Strycova is a very programed player from the back of the court so as long as you don,t play her "in" and give her what she wants you will break her down . If she goes to that backhand side she must get her wide off the court to open up the weaker side.
Jarka has all the "tools" to beat this girl 100% , she just needs to play a very solid smart match and I am very confident she will do it
These two have played twice before...
Both times in 2001, back when Strycova was 15 and Gajdosova 14...
Strycova won both times, 7-6(6) 6-2 on clay, and 6-1 1-6 6-2 on hard
