During the opening ceremony, the stadium is completely full!!! This was really amazing!!! The match started slowly, both players being intimated to be the first match after the opening ceremony. Mazur seem paralysed and was quickly trailing 0-3 (having been broken once). Kedriouk was faster in the match, with an excellent serve (3 winners in the first game and 2 aces in the second one).

Kedriouk broke one more time later in the set to lead 5-1. Then some spectators started to leave the stadium, which seemed to affect more Kedriouk who lost his serve. After Mazur won his serve, Kedriouk concluded 6-3 [N.B. : I just realised I posted a wrong score but could not amend it as I can't access WTAworld at the moment).

In the second set, Mazur was the first one to break in the 4th game to take the lead 3-1 (aking advantage of Kedriouk difficulties to hit first serves + one double fault). But Kedriouk broke back immediately by changing of tactics : he started to hit with more topspin, keeping the ball long and in play and being more patient before trying a winner with his forehand.

I must admit that at 3-3, I followed a bit less because I just noticed that Iroda little sister was sitting very close to me and I took the opportunity to take a few photos of her ;) .

At 4-4. Kedriouk broke one last time Mazur serve and concluded the match aggressively by going more often to the net.

I did not take many notes today as I spent lot of time taking photos (around 80  ).

LIU Jin-Jin vs. ARUTYUNOVA Elina
The match started very badly for Jin Jin who was extremely tense. She was on the defensive and holding back her shots :( . This lasted however only a couple of games. She was helped by the lack of experience of Elina who did not take advantage of the short balls played by Jing Jing and committed some enormous errors trying to finish off the points.

Jing Jing then came back to herself and was more aggressive, going to the net on several occasions.

SANTOS Anna-Patricia vs. MAMUTOVA Velena
This match was won by the players who committed the least number of unforced errors. Velena has a good forehand but needs to work mostly her serve (her feet are moving too much, in particular the left foot).

I felt Velena could have played better but she seemed to be under some pressure.

KIM Dong-Hyun vs. YAKHYAEV Mansur
This was a real tennis lesson by Dong-Hyun. He moved his opponent everywhere, going to the net on short balls...

Dong-Hyun was obviously extremely confident during this match but made his opponent play points. Though it was extremely obvious, I found it kind of him not to finish off the match like Yeu-Tzuoo did.

WANG Yeu-Tzuoo vs. SHAHGHOLI Anoosha (IRI)
I wanted to watch a bit of this match but it finished in no time at all and I could see nothing at all :eek : .

SUN Peng vs. VICTORINO Joseph
The points were tight, but Joseph serve let him down during the whole match. Too low percentage of first serve and too many double faults. He had an errative toss (tossing often too much in front) and was not pushing upwards with his legs (falling on the ball).
Peng serve was extremely efficient in the match + Peng served and volleyed very well.
