Alex had an incredible end to 2011, capping with her first singles title, and first two doubles titles, all within two weeks in Djibouti.
She has stumbled out of the gates so far in 2012, but was given a wild card into the main draw at the 25K Moscow. Perhaps that's where she'll turn it around.
I 100% agree, however before her results at the end of last year, she was always very insistant. So even making semis week in and week out would be a step in the right direction for Alex.
#2 seed, Tlemcen. Alex received a bye in the first round (this tourney is so weak, there wasn't even a qualy draw). Anyway, she double-bagelled local girl Sofia Benhalima in the second round. First real challenge was Danijela Tomic in the quarters. Alex wore her down, 64 46 60.
Semis she faces Johanna Hyoty, who upset #4 seed Alina Wessel. Go Alex!
