Angelique Kerber Showing impressive consistency in the slams, has reached sf USO, qf RG and now last 16 Wimbledon in last 12 months, never having reached the second week of any slam before that. Totally deserving of top 10 status now.
Camila Giorgi Grassmila qualified for Wimbledon two years running and has now made the second week, beating Pennetta and Petrova who themselves have had some good Wimbledon records, but has never even made the main draw of any other slams. Never mind, now she is in the top 100, she will not have to qualify for the next few anyway!
Maria Kirilenko has been in every slam main draw since RG 2004, and has made qf AO, last 16 of US and RG, now her first Wimbledon fourth round, with a good chance of making the quarters...Well done to her!
Yaroslava Shvedova What an amazing comeback year it has been for her, after struggling through the ITFs (see Bianca Botto,
passim), she has turned her fortunes around with qualifying and reaching the qfs of RG and has now used her deserved wild card into Wimbledon to reach the last 16 for the first time in a slam outside Paris and how! Winning a golden set against a top 10 player and RG finalist! Amazing!

Roberta Vinci Amazing that a player of her quality has never reached the last 16 of a slam until now. But this is totally deserved. An old-fashioned player with a game to excel on clay and grass, Roberta totally deserves her place and could even make the quarters with her draw.
