Worrying tweets from Lisa just when we thought she was on the mend.

Lisa is back on court in the Taunton ABT event. She beat the national under-12 champion Kartal in 3 sets in her first match.

Re: Lisa Whybourn

She won the tournament 7-5 6-1 against Covington.

It's gonna be a long road but at least she's on that road now.

The best 12 year old in the country, who could potentially be a future top 100 player.

For a return after such a long break (Wimbledon aside) that is a decent result. Covington is a very good county level player so it's just good to see her Winning again.

Edit: AND she had just recovered from food poisoning. https://twitter.com/lisawhybourn/sta...36869621555200

Re: Lisa Whybourn

To be fair, said 12 year old had turned 13 just a couple days before her match with Whybourn.

Re: Lisa Whybourn

That's the ABT, I guess: http://lta.tournamentsoftware.com/sp...D575400&draw=5. Don't know why it's more proper than the last one.

Hope she's getting good advice about continuing her career. It sounds to me like the injury will prevent her from ever fulfilling her potential, and maybe she hasn't come to terms with that.

Way OT: shouldn't Lawson be in South America?

Re: Lisa Whybourn

Lisa qualified and won her first MD match since July 2013 over Griffin. It's good to have her back.
