Re: Madrid QF: (16)Ana Ivanovic vs (6)Angelique Kerber: Who will reach SF?

A brilliant opportunity for Ivanovic to demonstrate she's getting back to her best consistently. So Kerber will no doubt win 0-6, 7-5, 6-4 (Ivanovic leading 6-0. 5-3, then trailing 6-0, 5-7, 0-5, then gets back on serve before being broken to love).

It'd be great if Ana got another win over a top 10. I give her a chance, maybe she still have enough energy left to do it.

Robsons match was a mix of bad return tennis as well, long service games due to double faulting and faulting, and Robson was also a lefty. Kerber is good but not good enough to count a top twenty player out, espesually Ivanovic. Better power, stronger serve and heart come from Ivanovic and that is what it will take to win.

Ajde Ana! Prove yourself!
Yeah, I agree, I think that Robson, being lefthanded and when tuned in to execute power with (some) precision, is the kind of player that can be more uncofortable for Ana than Kerber. And also, Ana's win in Fed Cup looked to me like she had the recipe for her, and she was strictly playing to a script. So, I don't see why the same script wouldn't work again. Sliced her to death, changed the pace, mixed power with junk and Kerber did not thrive.
But, she should be ready for resistence.
Solid chance, and the kind of chance that must not be squandered any more.

Good that Kerber is not left-handed then.

Re: Madrid QF: (16)Ana Ivanovic vs (6)Angelique Kerber: Who will reach SF?

Betting odds on Ana in Stuttgart FED CUP vs Kerber was 2.40-1.50, but today odds are 1.85-1.95 in hers favor despite WTA#6 Kerber played well so far during claycourt season playing very good even in both two matches which she lose so far in 2013 on this surface (vs Ivanovic and Sharapova).

Main reason why Ana chances so much rise in last three weeks is not hers current 2013 claycourt W/L 7-1 or former glory on this surface (former RG Champion), but level of play on clay which she showed vs two toughest opponents this season (Kerber and Sharapova). So I'm also expecting of Ana to repeat such level without necessary problems which she shows vs Barthel, Mattek or Robson, and I guess that should be enough for win.

This today's eventual win should to be important step for Ana's TOP10 comeback already after RG, especially because I don't expect of her to take seriously Rome, so she really needs this SF.

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

why wouldn't she take Rome seriously?
She can easily reach the final there if drawn into another half than Sharapova - I consider her the second best claycourter on tour right now

Lefthandidness bothers Ana, but it has to be paired with certain other game qualities to kill her. We shall see.

Srbija has his theories about which tournaments Ana takes seriously and which ones she doesn't The even funnier thing is that he tends to be right
