I don't mind he loopy forehand if she had the proper footwork to make it an offensive shot.
I miss the "on a mission Rena" we saw yesterday. She was ruthless, utterly focused, and had a good game plan. I was worried about Sam yesterday, but Rena's new clay tennis style helped her plenty in that match, plus Sam has just been poor. She needs to return to more first strike flat hitting against Safarova from the forehand side especially.
IF her footwork was almost always consistent, I'd agree 100%. But we know Serena's footwork can come and go a bit too much which makes the loopy forehand a danger to her overall game--she starts spraying, shorter shots into the court, the other opponents get to set up on it and tee off it.
i'll convince myself she's entered into a bet with someone and she'll win big money if she can win the match by hitting all loppy ass forehands...that's the story i'm going with
