If you were gonna have an all-time World XI, who would make your team?
My list is weighted towards more modern players as its they I'm most familiar with...

2 J.Hobbs
3 D.Bradman
4 S.Tendulkar
5 B.Lara
6 G.Sobers
7 A.Gilchrist
8 Imran Khan
9 R.Hadlee
10 S.Warne
11 M.Marshall

Akram ahead of Imran Khan? That's an interesting one! For me as a complete player Imran Khan would be my choice.
Of the golden All-rounder era in the 80's I think he was the very best of them. That generation included Imran Khan, Kapil Dev, Ian Botham and Richard Hadlee so it was an amazing time.

yeah imran was a great cricketer as well but kallis fills the all rounder boots perfectly, and sobers and hadlee are no mugs with their second skill......so i thought it's better to have a fierce frontline fast bowler instead of another all rounder......

Re: The Cricket thread
india v australia should be a good test series. australia need to show that they can be competitive away especially before they go to england for the ashes.

Re: The Cricket thread
was watching west indies vs zimbabwe pre-match show......watching alistair campbell as the guest commentator on the tour reminded me of world cup 2003......
campbell retired just before that world cup and commentated in the first few matches of that world cup......zimbabwe needed an immediate replacement for an injured player and campbell took the spot straight from the commentary booth and played that world cup match which was to be his final match of career......

Re: The Cricket thread
england bowled out for 167. i think they got a little overconfident. NZ didn't lie down.

Re: The Cricket thread
chris gayle absolutely blasted a ton today smashing all the previous records in ipl.....at one point all the bowlers were afraid to bowl at him when the captain looked at them to have a bowl......
