I think she really deserves a thread as promising star.
She's only 14 years old, and this week she made her debut at the Dutch Masters defeating Angelique van der Meet (#391). At the ITF Junior ranking she is ranked #56. Very impressive for a 14 year old.
After a disappointing 46 36 loss to Grammatikopoulou with around 19 double faults, Indy is also playing in Heraklion this week and won her 1st round 61 63 over Josephine Boualem. She is also playing doubles with comeback girl Misa Krajicek. Indy is seeded #4 in both singles and doubles.
It's because she goes for so much on her second serve.
If she is winning over 60% of points on her second serve, then the DFs don't matter as much. It's when you're wining a low percentage and you're Double Faulting when it starts to become an issue.
But 18 is ridiculous: That is virtually a set. That's more than a Double Fault a game
After Heraklion, Indy played 2 tourneys in Shark el Sheikh, but ending slightly disappointing with a 36 26 loss to Olga Doroshina in the 2nd Round after a bye and a QF loss 64 67 26 to Tess Sugnaux without a bye. In all of her matches Indy served loads and loads of double faults, she served 24 against Doroshina.
She is now back at 25k Karshi, Uzbekistan and is the 3rd seed in Qualifying. First opponent is 16-year old Uzbekistani Yana Kohn.
She is also on the EL for 25k Bukhara the week after. So Indy is in Central Asia the coming weeks and hopefully she can get some good results
I Really Hoping she will soon pick it up I was hoping she will be around top 200-250 by now but there still alot time and we still in the middle of tennis season
