Pleased Mandy into the SF of the doubles in Seoul , hope MM wins!
Mystery as Yuliya vs Vesna over in less than 1 hour....was expecting a very tight match, hope one of the girls is not injured ? Turned on 365 and the other QF matches just starting the second set!
For some reason 365 not showing the scores...finally got onto the William Hill site....
Match took over 2 hours, Yuliya won 63 06 75
Yuliya served to save the match at 45 fs, so she was fighting hard. Served the match out to 15...won 83 points to Vesna's 80.... Now hope they win their doubles match!
Hoping Yuliya can go at least one further in this UK tournament, as she was a SF in Woking in August, SF in Barnstable two weeks ago, now plays SF vs Dodin of France....good luck!
Lost again in the SF, a hard fought 2 hr match 36 57 to the eventual champion. Yuliya seems to have picked up her serve again, served at least 5 aces!
In a tough 25 K in Clermont Ferrand this week. Potentially tricky R1 match v Lesley Kerkhove later today.
Number 1 seed in the doubles with Maryna Zanevska, the girls have a bye R1.
Another 2 hour match, lost 62 36 16.....6 aces ......75 points Yuliya, 82 Lesley. YB only 3/9 on break points....she did not win the big points, the final set looks one sided but Yuliya did not take her game points...
Yuliya withdrew from the doubles....according to the Ukranian tennis group on Facebook " she is a little sick " and so the girls decided to withdraw as a precaution....pity, I think they might well have won it....Yuliya wants to keep in the Top 100 in doubles.
At least you get a chance to play....Yuliya would have been on site too...always bitter as you say Bino, MD or QD...oh well, it was the chance she took.....a trip to Asia might have been better?!!
Love this 40-40 winner takes all... Yuliya and Eva were 56 40-40 so set point and break point at the same time. After almost 1 hour lost 1st set 57 sorry to say,....very close, virtually every game going to 40-40...
In doubles led 62 4*3 30-15 , then lost QF 62 46 6-10 having led 4*1 in the tie break
Also 5/11 BP, the Italians 4/5....aargh!
Better luck on Saturday in QD in Poitiers
Yuliya won a 25 K in Israel w/c 21 Oct 2013 so 50 points to defend....
Withdrew yesterday from Nantes w/c 27 Oct...possible 25k's in Bath and Minsk in November ? No more points to defend this year....
Will still have enough points for Australian Open 2015 unless Yuliya decides to retire end of this year? She will be 31 on Monday ....many happy returns! ))
Tough section. Beat Tan of France 63 61 yesterday evening.
Now Ostapenko of Latvia, who is the current junior Wimbledon champion. Time for Yuliya to win a tough match, nowt much since she beat Doloncs 75 fs in September
Yes very nicely fought...in fact she was 15* down in second set, so a wonderful come back...good luck tomorrow! her 31st birthday. Many returns to her!
