I think she really deserves a thread as promising star.
She's only 14 years old, and this week she made her debut at the Dutch Masters defeating Angelique van der Meet (#391). At the ITF Junior ranking she is ranked #56. Very impressive for a 14 year old.
She is also on the EL for 25k Rancho Santa Fe the week after, but she is way out of Q because of her ranking there. Perhaps she is also on the EL for 25k Surprise in Arizona but we can't view the list for that tourney.
Indy had a 5-1* lead in the 1st set She did recover from 1-3 down in the 2nd to 3-all but was broken at *4-5.
But of an unnecessary loss it seems. Well, she still has a lot to learn. Next week Q for 25k Surprise, hopefully she will do even better there.
Youtube user fantic7 uploaded 2 clips of Indy in Rancho Santa Fe, one vs. Alda and one vs. Vankova.
Its interesting to see, because Indy has obviously been experimenting with her serve. In a clip of her playing at the Osaka Mayors Cup she served with a platform stance, but in ese clips she is back to a pinpoint stance which she has always had. Also she has made a racquet change, she played with the Wilson Juice last year, now she is using the new Babolat Aerodrive. And she is looking good in that Nike line
After this weeks tournament in Surprise, Indy is on the EL for 10k Sutton in the week of the 4th of March (Playing Q) and I expect her to play 15k Bath the week after too.
