PYW Doubles Brisbane
Welcome to Brisbane, Australia! This is the first premier event of the year and is the primary WTA tournament to kick off 2013 as we head down under to prepare for the Australian Open. This year's top seeds, Italians Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, established themselves as a strong forced to be reckoned with in 2012, enjoying an incredible season in their charge towards the top of the rankings, which will make them very hard to beat in this new year. The second seeds are American Liezel Huber, who has just adopted a baby, and Spaniard María José Martínez Sánchez, both of whom will be uniting together in the new year. The third seeds, American veterans Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears, also enjoyed a fantastic 2012 season and will hope to continue this in the new year starting with Brisbane. Finally, the fourth seeds this week are a very interesting pair as both German Anna-Lena Grönefeld and Czech Květa Peschke have been away from action for quite a while but have decided to take a crack at it together this year, so they will likely be popular candidates. With these teams and many more in action, the new year is about to begin in style. Vote now as the Brisbane International 2013 unfolds!
