Serena Williams Australian Open 2007.
I was extremely pleased, but not the least bit surprised, by her 2012 comeback. She had already proven everything in 2007.

Also, wasn't Capriati always around but just not playing enough and having bad results?

Jen was out in 94/95 but played sporadically from 96-98ish before pretty much coming back in 98 but only had slam success in 2001.
Based on that, and the fact Serena did come back mid 2011 and despite how impressive and amazing it has been I'd vote for Seles with Serena very close behind.

Re: Which of these career comebacks is the most impressive?
The fact that Monica came back at all is enough to put her right at the top.
For titles it's obviously Serena.

Seles. She was robbed by a lunatic of her chance for GOAT glory. Her father also passed away and she got fat. And she still came back and reached four GS finals. She also doesn't get enough credit for her 4 SFs and 11 QFs outside of that.

Monica Seles and it's not even close. Just setting foot on a tennis court again after the horror she went through makes her a champion. For all the trials and tribulations, no other player has had to endure what Monica did - and thank heavens for that.
