I'm quite sure that "Miss M. Coles" was the former Mildred Coles playing under a pseudonym as a married woman.

It appears that Elizabeth Ryan and Dorothy Holman both had walkovers in the first round, although their scheduled first round opponents are not listed. The Phyllis Satterthwaite vs Mrs Turton encounter was also a first round match, so the next matches are the semi-finals.
