Hate the fact that she will play on 25's and 50's in next months
Puig vas very close against Kerber (No.5 on WTA list), and Ana totally dominated against Puig.
Ana needs one 25K title soon and she will make it into top 200. I don't have any doubt that she will play excellent in Australia and I think that she will have rank about No. 190 at the end od February.
While it's great to follow Ana's success and her maturing tennis, it's also sad (in a sense) when you think that her best tennis days will probably come at the same time as those of some other Croatian players, so she probably won't get as much media attention as she would've, achieving the same a few years earlier. For instance, in the summer of '08 we had only Kostanic (barely) in the top 100, so assuming that Ana can come into 150 or even close to 100 (enitrely possible), it's easy to figure she'd probably be Croatian #2 and a certain Fed cup candidate at that time. This would help her both financially, as well as in a promotional sense. But if she does a great job in the coming years, when we expect Martic, Vekic and Konjuh to all come inside top 30, her #100 might not even be enough for a spot in the national team. So yeah, she is becoming a really good player, but sometimes you need to have a bit of luck in timing as well.
She goes to practice, her coach is coaching some other girls, PM for example.
By winning one of three tournament you get only 50 points, 100 points is very optimistic...
Ana must be top 200 to play the European tournaments 235000 of clay. In March it is going to lose 50 points of the tilts 2012 of Antalya (ANAtalaya ). In Australia it must add 100 points to be top 200. Beside 25000 or 50000 play in some European tournament in March (25000 Tunis?).
Top Ana 200 (and much better 150 ó 160) and it plays from April to October the circuit WTA include the 3 grands slams.
yes, ana will practice in brisbane - petra is playing melbourne. the third player is a young romanian who is playing juniors au open.
the team is 2 coaches and the 3 girls..
the 3 25k tournaments are logical since she will play many matches.. going to 235k qualies (cali/bogota/acapulco) is higher risk and cost. Ana needs about 100 points to be 100% sure for the next 2 grand slams.. there is also time in march.. there the focus will shift towards fes/katowice(still listed as denmark)..
if she keeps playing the way she is, things will come together without much hassle..
Well, don't know why, but in slams they always end 3 weeks before the start of the qualies (4 weeks before the start of the main draw). Those for the main draw are always done 6 weeks before the start of the event.
