In the game, participants pick the winners of all main draw matches and are placed in a knock-out system. That means each participant plays a different participant and whoever predicted the winner of most matches correctly, moves on to the next round. The same applies for doubles, but you're in a team format and your scores are combined.
- In case a player (i.e. the actual WTA Player) retires in a match, the new retirement rule will decide whether the match will or won't be counted (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=18890744&postcount=1). If players are replaced by a lucky loser after the start of Tennis Tipping, these matches will be cancelled.
How to Sign-Up:
Just post here that you would like to play. You can only play one tournament per week. Entries will be based on ranking. Everyone can commit.
Picks can be sent in as soon as the draws are ready. Remember, you pick a winner inevery match! Picks should be sent by PM, so that your opponent does not know your picks. Picks should be titled: [TT: Kuala Lumpur - #day]. Picks can be sent in anytime until the beginning of play each day. If you are in singles and doubles then you can use different picks for each if you want to. For doubles, you still tip the WTA singles matches, not the doubles! No changes can be made after the play has started.
In case of emergencies/pick sending problems: Only in case of circumstances that a tt player cannot send picks to the manager of the tournament one can send his picks to the below e-mail address. The board will be able to access this account and picks sent here will be counted as normal. Please note that it should ONLY be used in emergencies. Also, a person who uses this method of sending picks should alert the tournament manager and a board member as soon as possible because the account won't necessarily be checked every day.
Re: Tennis Tipping #10b - Kuala Lumpur - Commit! =)
SAISAI-GOAT is not using his SE WC (as he is in MD anyway) it is transferred to sd3300123
Bummel/Kirilenko-Fan is not using their SE WC (as Kirilenko-Fan is in Monterrey MD) it is transferred to Buitenzorg/sergiopoker

if that is the case, why did you PM me to inform me that I earned the SE and in order to use the SE I must go in the Kuala Lumpur thread and say that I want to use the SE
Re: Tennis Tipping #10b - Kuala Lumpur - Commit! =)
Anw the old system of SE was so much better. At least you had to win a ITF to earn your right to take a MD place over a player who earned by ranking. To reserve in every MM 2 spots for ITF players based of a ITF race doesn't make much sense imho.
We award being consistent on ITF over being being consistent on WTA
EDIT: So SSG is being taken out the SE. God, I hate these stupid rules who make no sense whatsoever
Re: Tennis Tipping #10b - Kuala Lumpur - Commit! =)
Seriously Laszlo this is so wrong. It's really forced to make another SE in out of the blue.
Saisai-Goat earned his right and he uses it at his convenience.
He could have transfered it to anyone else but his choice was not to. Period.

yes exactly, because otherwise the all my sweat, tears and hard work at those ITF tournaments in February basically amounts to nothing at all
and this will make the SE system MUCH more complicated because every single week if the player / team that earned the SE did not use it (either they are ranked high enough to enter MD without SE, they are not playing that tournament) then you have to keep offering it to the next person on the list until one person takes it
Re: Tennis Tipping #10b - Kuala Lumpur - Commit! =)
Anyhow, there are 2 things which never should be done:
Never change the taxation law during the year
Never change the rule during the tourney. When SE race was over (based on the ATB ruling) I PMed to SE ALTs to be ready as Blackeagle and NA-MUG cannot use their SE.
BTW There was a rule last year that TOP 30 cannot have an SE, does it disappeared?

Re: Tennis Tipping #10b - Kuala Lumpur - Commit! =)
SE holders have to request their SE till Monday 6PM CET (24 hours after the first deadline). If they don´t request their SE in time then it gets transferred to the SE ALTs (the next person/team in the race), who can request it until 2nd deadline of a tournament.
it´s true, it is written differently in the rule but to be honest, I thought that it would be obvious that a player who doesn´t needs his/her SE won´t use/request it, if he/she is in MD anyway, why would anyone want to do that when he doesn´t need it, while someone else on the Challenger/SE race behind him would be glad if he could earn that spot?
Makes zero sense to me at all and I think that the board has no problem to change the wording of the rule..
The fact that the current SE System might not be perfect etc. is another question, that´s what we will discuss again at the end of the season.

SE_"ALTs" are never random, they obviously achieved some wins at Challenger tournaments + it is impossible to satsify everyone anyway,in the past tons of people complained about it how difficult it is to get into WTA Draws etc. etc. and now people complain about it when we say that the SE gets transfered to the next person of the race (again, not random) when the original holder of the SE is already in MD anyway!
and as you said it yourself, the current SE holder PREFERS, so what happens next?
SAISAI-GOAT (for example) likes the 1st seed of Q so he decides to keep his SE spot in such a case and at some other tournament he hates the 1st seed of Q and decides not to take it?
that would only cause drama so we need a a clear rule here

in general, it is very seldom that the player that wins the SE is already in the MD
in this case I happen to love both the TOP SEED of QD FORZA :ignore: and the 1st Out of QD The Walking Bye
so it is the least that I could do, to use my SE which I earned by winning Sunrise as a Qualifier and reaching Midland SF as a Qualifer, to improve their chances of getting in MD and QD
but if The Board really feels this way, then I don't know why I received a PM from Laszlo informing me that if I would like to use my SE for Kuala Lumpur, I should commit to Kuala Lumpur informing DJDVD that I wanted to use the SE it was obvious my ranking was not going to fall below the cutoff for this tournament and it could have been offered to the SE-ALT way ahead of time
actually having an SE a big reason I am even playing here, I probably would have played Monterrey if it wasn't for having an SE here
anyway I just want to point out to the Board that this SE system becomes much harder to administer than the one in place last year ... in the one last year, specific players had the SE and they either used it or not ... in the one now, you have the SE Holder and you have to monitor whether they will use it ... if they don't you have to offer it to the SE-ALT etc.
and that brings me back to the earlier question ... if SE-ALT does not use it, there is always SE-ALT 2, SE-ALT 3, so how many people will you offer it to and what is the timeline to offer it
Last in QD for singles and doubles hearts as even if the se is transferred it will only be useable by someone in the ALTS or Q as it is not valid with entry after 1st deadline
Re: Tennis Tipping #10b - Kuala Lumpur - Commit! =)
Could you guys make a definitive decision I'm currently last in Q, but if you hand out an SE I go to ALT1 If you only make your decision at the WD deadline, I don't get to choose between here and Curibita
As I said, the 'SE' isn't valid anymore as it's past the 1st deadline, so can we just agree, either Saisai takes it, or no SE this week, while we make a poll and discuss rules to be valid from Week 11 onwards:shrug:
