Re: Which pro does your game compare most to?

DH FH is basically the ugliest shot in the history of tennis, don't do that.

There was a time when I was struggling with a single handed forehand, probably because of poor technique and being physically weaker. Now both my forehands are better. So yes, I don't need to hit a two-handed forehand and I shouldn't but I keep it because it's fun at times and I like the crazy topspin and crazy angles I can generate with it. But 90% of the time I would hit single handed.

Re: Which pro does your game compare most to?

My game is ever evolving. Now I'm not sure what pro I resemble.

Forehand: definitely the weaker of my two groundstrokes but my game is solidly built on my groundstrokes so they aren't bad. I'm left handed and I'd say my forehand when it's on it's great but if it's off its like...OFF. I do too much pushing I think so I'm quite efficient in hitting it down the line or a short angled cross court. Deep cross court shots on my forehand is probably the only shot I can't rely on for me to make 99 times out of 100 like the other shots. More likely than not I'd pull it wide rather than deep. It's very spinny but I can flatten it out when it's on. Inside out is clearly the best singular shot on this side apart from my inside out forehand dropshot (the best stroke I have).

Backhand is the better of my two groundstrokes. A very strong shot and it's very flat so it always penetrates. I can hit it anyone on the court. My dropshots on this side are also near impeccable. My favorite to hit is either the inside out backhand dropshot or maybe the inside in backhand dropshot if they are honing in on the former. Either way I have much variety on this side and it's the side people always want to avoid but can't because I'm left handed and a right handers natural tendency is to hit it to my right side.

Serve: The only other shot I have where I'm not comfortable in hitting under pressure (the first being my forehand). It's not bad, but it's not good in any way whatsoever. I average about 1 ace every...20 matches? . However because of my lefty spin (especially on the ad side) while I rarely get aces I get lots of service winners. Like my serves will barely clock over 70mph but it's so full of spin that it's not easily attackable. However this shit breaks down under pressure so in close matches I tend not to serve well. Sad

Volleys: well although I consider my volleys a bit malnourished I'm very good at the net. In doubles my game is very Martina Hingis like in the sense that I have amazing angles and can come up with the best drop volleys under pressure. My colleagues always want to be my partner in practice matches lol. My forehand volley is the better volley but I can get more angle on my backhand volleys. My 2nd volleys are impeccable. So far, I'm not sure if I've ever met anyone with better 2nd volleys than myself. However my 1st volleys are the ones that need work, hence why I said malnourished.

Variety: I have nearly every shot you can think of except tweeners or any variation of that. I don't have one concrete weapon that makes people scared of me because I do everything well and couldn't turn one shot into a weapon. My best shot might be my variety because I can change up my game slightly to adapt to any opponent or game plan

Movement: on my college team, its second to none. I'm known as the "phoenix" (stupid name I know lol) because just when you think the point is over I get my racquet back on the ball. Movement to the net and back might be slightly better than lateral movement but no discernible difference. In my approximate 7 years of playing, I can only remember successfully being dropshotted a total of 10 times. The thousands of times before I may have hit it out but they weren't dropshot winners.

Mentality: hmm, when I'm on a confidence high I rarely lose, even to people much better than me. On a confidence low though I can lose to just about anyone because I don't have that one big shot so someone can definitely take control of the point quickly. I'm a defensive player for the most part but can definitely be all around if I'm playing another defensive player

So yeah, not sure who my game resembles the most but it has changed a lot in the years when I posted in this thread

It's because of that whip I make while hitting it, albeit I don't do it to mimic Nadull though It's just coincidental and I try to cut down it

He (my coach) was telling me: Uderzasz Nadale! - literally it means: you hit Nadals! (plural form)

My attitude is so bad. Even worse than Davenport. You still have a chance at beating me

Re: Which pro does your game compare most to?

I was able to get a highlights video of my latest hitting session, once YouTube is done processing I may post it on here to see if I resemble one of the pro's in yinz's minds.

Re: Which pro does your game compare most to?

First half is just warm-ups, second half is playing points out.

This is one point I played against a 4.5 player, that damn ball clipped in net in the end and I let it go instead of swinging I need to work on that.

^ I see a bit of a Pfizenmaier balltoss and Barthel's shrinking up left arm on your forehand.
