I'd go with Justine, I mean not knowing the surface, or which version of each player shows up makes it pretty much a coin toss but I think Justine would fare better than most against Serena also if she loses at least I'd get to see that majestic backhand of hers one last time
Nah, seriously. It's pretty obvious that Prime Graf or Prime Martina would simply put her in her place. She's got the power, but not the actual tennis skills. Finesse, accuracy, movement, variety, not even touching the mental aspects of the game. She's a great champion, I love her biography as well. But that's about it, I like her as an athlete, as a combination of bones, muscles, nerves. But as a tennis player? Come on.
OK Now add a twist. Serena doesn't know the stakes, she thinks she is playing a regular GS final and she is motivated to win. Your player has been told that if she loses, an innocent person dies. Who do you choose then?
Well that's easy, summer 2000 Venus. She knows Serena's patterns better than anyone and takes away that I want to murder you and humiliate you edge that Serena has during matches.
People are saying Sharapova sarcastically but it's not an entirely illogical choice. If you take the view that you are doomed whoever you choose, all the fart-arsing about that Maria does before each serve might buy you a precious extra 20 minutes of life.
