Credit to Nastya, she battled thru so much adversity during this match.
After a solid 1st set, Mirza just won every close point in the 2nd set, many games went to deuce to win the 2nd. From 0-2 down Nastya reeled off 4 games and after losing 4 match points and having to battle it out in a t/b she got the gold.
So good to see an Aussie play so well for her country and battle a hostile crowd. Nastya glared at them a fair bit at the end of the 2nd set, but as usual had more to say to herself than the crowd. Overall she was pretty well behaved!

Hurt my leg during the match today and had to retire. Unfortunately I won't be able to play next week in Luxembourg. Done for the year
I think Nastya has a good chance of breaking the top-50 at the start of the year. Hopefully she can build on her great performances at the Commonwealths and keep climbing the rankings.
Have fun! And make sure you take plenty of photos!
This reminds me I don't think I've posted my photos of Nastya from Wimbledon. I saw her three times, including her r1 match vs. Keothavong and the vocal British crowd, which was all kinds of fun!
lots of chances to break and hold but not to be. This Jovanovski is a highly ranked Junior with a win over Jankovic to her credit so not such a bad loss in retrospect.
