French Open 2013--first timer?
I realize this is super premature, but I'm planning on buying individual tickets to RG on Wednesday. I was wondering if people recommend getting Chatrier + outer courts or if some other ticket might be better. Also, what's the history like of the defending champions opening up on Sunday? I would love to see Sharapova and I realize how that's not something you can plan, but I figured I'd ask.
Any other tips are greatly appreciated!

Re: French Open 2013--first timer?
I think the women's champion generally does open play on the Sunday. One exception was 2011 but that was because Schiavone was playing in Brussels on the Saturday so I think your chances of watching Maria will be pretty high if you go on Sunday.
I was on the outside courts last year and I had an incredible time. I never buy stadium tickets because you can never predict who's going to be on the OOP and I'd rather watch a competitive match than see one of the top seeds maul through someone in straight sets.
If you can't get what you want now, I'd recommend checking viagogo.fr. I bought most of my tickets from that site last year and one of my friends even bought Chatrier tickets for most of the first week from that site.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

Last year Li also played on Monday, I think that's the new trend? Well I have Chatrier tickets on monday so I'm hoping Maria plays that day.

I bought tickets for all the 1st week.
each day just 4 matches will be placed on the PH, it means all top players cant play on it everyday, also considering frenchman/woman will play on showcourts, so what we did was : buying , thursday SL, friday + saturday PH, you may have the chance of seeing some good players on SL
the other days we got grounds, we got the tickets from RG web site...

Re: French Open 2013--first timer?
Hey guys, I was wondering something.
I'm planning on going for the first round. Is it okay to buy tickets there, or should you buy in advance?
I've noticed from watching matches on tv that there are always enough empty seats during the first rounds.

Re: French Open 2013--first timer?
Hi, I'm really keen to buy tickets for the women's final. However, all the tickets on the official website are no longer available? What would be a reliable way/website to get resale tickets from?

http://www.viagogo.fr/rolandgarros
For the moment, no tickets for the women's final are available but just check the site regularly, it can happen pretty quickly.

Re: French Open 2013--first timer?
I've tried viagogo but it's pretty uncertain as to whether i can really get tickets. I found some on seatwave.com, however does anyone know if its reliable?

Re: French Open 2013--first timer?
It is not, viagogo is the only official one. Getting tickets anywhere else is extremely risky as tickets have to be assigned to a precise name and the ID is checked at the entry of the stadium. Viagogo is the only one that is safe.
I know it looks like there's nothing available but the best solution really is to keep checking viagogo, especially for women's semis and finals, which are tickets that appears quite often, it's difficult to be the first one to catch them though.

Which seats have a better view? From the side or the front?
