WTA don't really want them to clash with real WTA events. Actually, all of them but those two Chinese 125 in the summer (who can't hurt the US swing) are being held off season.
Rise of these tournaments has coincided with the fall in number of ITF 100k events. Carlsbad could work, there are a number of 50k ITF tournaments in the US in November, this will just slot in
There are five WTA 125K Series events scheduled for 2015: Nanchang, China (week of July 27); Dailan, China (week of September 7); Limoges, France (November week to be confirmed); Hua Hin, Thailand (week of November 9); and Carlsbad, California, USA (week of November 23).
Looks like the longest 125K Taipei has disappeared (though still on the scheduling chart). Maybe spiceboy can confirm this?
In general he said that he was persistent with his idea in USA (WTA residence ) and that they firstly had in mind some week in may,on the end second week of RG seemed fine ,summer season in full force ,lots of people etc.
He also said that this tournament can be great for our/Cro players and this can be still financed, big category like international tournament would be too hard ,to secure all that money....Also he is looking for main sponsor who will cover (almost all of that ) prize money part.
He had success with luxemburgian company(who also helped) when he started futures,so i am really optimistic.Looking forward for next yr,hopefully everything goes well.
