She won a title in 99, 02, and 05. She was one of the teenager winner in 1999.
One of the few who won the first WTA event she entered.
This is quite an interesting girl.
Was watching this match and really have no comment. I don't know ... they played good match but they should win. And I had feeling (injured) Petrova really didn't want to be there. Dissapointing loss, really. She won't have many chances anymore in her carrer to win a lot of grand slams.
And Hradecka/Hlavackova defeated 3 "Slovenian" teams in row ... Klepač/Klemenschits, Hercog/Raymond and now Srebotnik/Petrova.
Not too pessimistic, guys. Kata has one of the best years of her career in doubles. No reason to think she won't have another shot at this. Petrova did seem a bit out of sorts, though. Still, I think they've done enough to qualify for the WTA Championships.
:singer: Kata is still 6th in the doubles rankings, but she also still has more points in this calendar year than any other player. If she and Nadia do well at the Championships, Kata has a very good chance of ending the year as #1.
well they'd better win the YEC then cause ending the year number 1 with those Slam results.... meh... oh, would be cool obviously 6 doesn't reflect her ranking IMO
BTW I think Petrova withdrew from Tokyo ... hopefully Kata can find a good partner and rack up some points there..
