Longest rally ever
Here's a question to keep us going whilst the play is suspended.
Anyone know the most strokes there has ever been in a rally? I saw a 29 stroke rally yesterday between, I think, Clijsters and Na Li. there must have been longer ones though. Anyone know?

Yeah there was one ages ago which lasted 30mins or so. Back in the 80ies I think.

The longest one ever mens one (might be mens and womens though) is 27 minutes.

There was a rally in a match at richmond in october 1984 between Vicky Nelson and Jean Hepner which lasted 29 minutes(643 strokes)!!!
All in all, the match lasted 6 hours and 22mins. And the tiebreak in that match lasted 1hour 47mins 
I bet this match was exciting:retard:
UPDATE: It was in the first round of that tourney and the final score was 6:4, 7:6 (13:11).

dementieva/capriati had a 39 stroke rally.
that's the longest i personally know but i'm sure two backboard-type players have had longer rallies

Yeah, it must have been a real snoozefest. Imagine losing the point though after 634 strokes!

No that rally was like 64 strokes...i think...Both of them were drenched at the end and lena ended up smashing out of the court

For me personally it's an 8-stroke rally.  I don't have time to rally  I either hit a winner or a unforced error. |

There was a huge rally at last years FO, between Clement and Santoro, that was over 200 shots
