Ting and Tiantian are playing in Bronx 50K, which is in my opinion a very good idea, because they can pick up some precious singles pts (whereas in Toronto, it would be harder to do so)

Its a good idea for the lower ranked Chinese players to play challengers instead of Tier I's. I've been saying that for years, but its only now that they started. They all played in Tier I's just for doubles, and poor Yan Zi couldnt even make the qualifying singles draw most of the time, then her ranking slipped.
