Congrats to Yuliya! She can now win the tournament after having beaten the strongest opponent of the draw.

Till 63 24* I noticed the following stats:

MM - YB
Winners 19-14
UE 22-19
FE 14-7

Yuliya finished 7/8 net approaches successfully.

After 2/4* second set I couldn't watch anymore but we can book lots of UEs on Mandy's account as I was reported.

All in all Yuliya had a better power control, she's got an aggressive margin of 9/4 against Mandy (and her value was getting better for sure in the third set) and this was finally deciding the match.

Good news, Yuliya has direct entry into the MD of the US Open doubles.
She is playing with Yvonne Meusburger of Austria.

Good luck!

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

Yuliya has a WC, KaterinaStewart from the USA, R1 of US Open...Stewart is just 17.....always tricky as WC have nothing to lose - having read up about Stewart, she is a clay court specialist .....gets everything back.....but then so does Yuliya!
If YB wins likely she will play Lesia Tsurenko (19) R2.....

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

Oh dear, a very bad day at the office, 44 unforced errors to Stewarts 24 in a 36 16 defeat.
Stewart has had a fantastic summer , but nevertheless I really question Yuliya's preparation.....she was still in Woking in a SF match in England Friday afternoon .....no time to adjust to US time... Why did her Dad and she plan like this???

Some awful scheduling, the 125K in China, then Woking......very strange....

Hoping for a good draw in the MD doubles with Yvonne.....and a win or two !

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

Unsurprisingly the ladies lost to the established pairing, 46 36. Lots of fight, the match took 73 minutes....

Onwards and upwards, Barnstaple and WTA Tashkent next....

I bet Yuliya enjoyed her New York time

Re: Yulia Beygelzimer cheering thread

Yuliya is the number 2 seed in the ITF 25 K in Barnstable.....a good draw. A qualifier Lucy Brown ( GBR ) R1....should make at least the SF.....not in the doubles....Good luck.....I can only think YB is playing WTA Tashkent next week rather than just hopping over the channel to play on clay in St Malo is because she wants to try for some large points in the doubles ?

She's already playing again after the USO? If you have to play between WTA and Itf it's not easy to find a reasonable schedule. Barnstable and Tashkent both are at least on hard court so it makes throughout sense to play both. Quali there will get tough, though.

Maybe she intends to play doubles as yuliandy

Wait nonsense, if she goes far in Barnstable she cannot play the Tashkent quali.
