Laura lost here two years ago to Sharapova 06 63 61, and now she almost lost by the same score.

Nicole was awful in the 1st set. Her backhand is for sure the weakest part of her game. She can hit her backhand with a lot of pace, but she makes too many mistakes with it. Laura played very consistently though, making close to no unforced errors.

Once Nicole got the score to 62 33, I could sense a momentum shift begin to happen, and it did. Nicole finally woke up and she started to hit more winners off both sides. Laura did not start to play worse, it's just that Nicole started to play a lot better.

The momentum continued with Nicole leading 26 64 20, and then Laura played the her worst game of the match. From there, Nicole's amazing serve carried her through to the title.
