Well, let's hope that there is some truth to the chatter! I think Hercog could be a great partner for Lisa. After a very disappointing 2013, maybe she can end it in a high note with Polona!
I just want her to extend the streak
As far as partners for 2014 goes... My ideal pick would be Kata MML is also in need of a perm partner. But i'm not sure how there games would stack up together. I think both of them are in need of a big hitter to compliment there style of play
4-6 5-7 Obviously a match of a point here or there. Whatever.
Interesting that Hercog designated Lisa as her coach for her match against Ivanovic. Lisa was very laid back and positive with Polona in their exchange. Seems they have certainitly built a friendship, and are really getting to know each others games better. With Osaka and Luxembourg seeming to be her final two tournaments of the season, hopefully she can grab one to keep the streak alive. Osaka is what kept the streak alive in 2009, so hoping for the best this time around.
Watching Polona play against Ana and Aga has really given me hope for next season. Very athletic, big forehand, and very comfortable around the net. Reminds me of a young Stosur.
Bummed that they couldn't pull that match out today but, like Njay16 wrote, it likely came down to a pt here and there- darn no ad scoring!
I like Polona's game for Lisa. I think she has a natural sense for doubles and a lot of variety. Her second serve kick is very effective! Here's to hoping they do well in Osaka and Luxembourg and then work on Polona's ranking so that they can start next year playing together and not rely on wild cards. Maybe they will play an extra tournament at the start of the year to try and get some points as well
Here's to hoping for a strong finish to 2013 which has been a disappointing year on many levels (from Kirilenko to injured Stosur to disappointing performances from Robson) and a great new partnership with lots of potential for 2014!
