Re: Deniz Khazaniuk

Deniz wins third straight $10,000 ITF in Israel. Now going to move up in class by playing a $50,000 Challenger in St Gaudens,France. Seems to have gotten a wild card into the main draw.

Re: Deniz Khazaniuk

Lost in the second round of a $25,000 Challenger in Switzerland to the number 1 seed. She was up 4-1 in the third set before collapsing.

Re: Deniz Khazaniuk

That's a shame, but it further goes to show she has more in her than winning back-to-back-to-back some of the weakest 10Ks ever played, and she can play with better players.
Zec-Peskiric is a former top 100 player.

I think Deniz is a definite top 200 potential.

Re: Deniz Khazaniuk

Khazaniuk has won no less the six 10K futures this year, probably a national record (I wonder what's the WR...), but has never made it past R2 of a 25K, and is unlikely to do so this week in Hertzliya - if she beat a qualifier in R1 then top seed Glushko will be waiting next.

According to Tapuz tennis forum, she is then heading for a weak 25K in Seoul in which she will be ranked and should crack that barrier, and then two Thai 15K tourneys, so should rack up some easy points and can break into the top 300.

Re: Deniz Khazaniuk

Deniz will be playing her former Fed-Cup teammate Julia Glushko tomorrow.

Deniz Khazaniuk def. (Q)Alexandra Artamonova 4-6 6-4 6-4

Does anybody know if there is still bad blood relating to the Fed Cup allegations made by Deniz in late 2011-12? If so, this could be an emotional match with Julia. On the other hand, Deniz clearly deserves to be on next year's team based on her current rankings.

Re: Deniz Khazaniuk

Glushko won easily 6-1 6-3.

Unlike Deniz vs Shahar, there haven't been much in the local press about Julia and her, even though Julia was also under fire in that infamous interview.

All I can say is that according to eyewitnesses, and unlike the Peer-Khazaniuk match in national champs SF, yesterday there was a handshake.

As for upcoming Fed Cup, Deniz is by far the 3rd best player in Israel, but it doesn't matter all that much which two girls will be cheering on Shahar and Julia from the sidelines
